Electronics Test Technician

PGS Worldwide is seeking an Electronics Test Technician in Oldsmar, FL for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This role sets up test apparatus and conducts tests on electronic circuit card assemblies (CCAs), RF circuits, and subassemblies in a dynamic production environment supporting customer schedules. You will troubleshoot to the component level using schematics, calibrate systems, document actions in data systems, and support engineers with test procedure development and product/process improvements.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma, or equivalent experience/combined education, with additional specialized technical training equivalent to a technical Associate degree and/or demonstrated ability to perform assigned technical/para-engineering tasks and 1 year of experience
  • 1 year of direct experience testing electronic assemblies
  • Proficiency troubleshooting to the component level on solid-state devices and micro-circuitry, including analog, digital, and RF circuits
  • Ability to use schematic diagrams to isolate failures on analog and digital circuitry
  • Proficiency using measurement and test devices including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, frequency standards, signal generators, and RF power meters
  • Flying probe test experience (required) and strong troubleshooting capability
  • Ability to adjust and calibrate electronic assembly systems as required and correct malfunctions through adjustments or part/component replacement as directed
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office and other data collection programs to accurately document maintenance actions

Preferred Skills

  • Extensive RF testing experience
  • Familiarity with radar systems
  • Military backshop repair/troubleshooting experience (as noted by hiring manager)
  • High power test experience (as referenced)

What Youll Do

  • Set up test apparatus and perform tests on CCAs, RF circuits, and subassembly units following defined methods, procedures, standards, and sequences
  • Lay out and assemble units for production electronic equipment per designs and specifications as required
  • Troubleshoot to the component level using schematics to isolate failures on analog, digital, and RF circuits
  • Adjust and calibrate test and assembly systems and correct malfunctions by adjusting or replacing components as directed
  • Determine appropriate test types, suggest modifications to test equipment, and analyze test results to evaluate product/equipment performance
  • Assist engineers with developing test procedures for new products and recommend product improvements or manufacturing modifications
  • Monitor and verify quality using statistical process or other control procedures as required
  • Document maintenance and test actions accurately in Microsoft Office and other data collection systems

Work Schedule / Shift

  • MonThu 3:30 PM2:00 AM (OT available on weekends)
  • Training is on first shift.
