Electronics Test Technician
PGS Worldwide is seeking an Electronics Test Technician in Oldsmar, FL for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Electronics Test Technician will test, troubleshoot, calibrate, and support production electronic circuit card assemblies, RF circuits, and subassemblies. This role requires component-level troubleshooting experience, strong knowledge of solid-state and digital circuits, and the ability to use schematics and electronic test equipment to isolate failures in a production environment.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent experience, plus specialized technical training equivalent to a technical associate degree and/or demonstrated ability to perform assigned technical tasks.
- 1+ year of direct electronics experience.
- Experience testing electronic assemblies.
- Proficient in component-level troubleshooting of solid-state and digital circuits.
- Ability to use schematic diagrams to isolate failures on analog and digital circuitry.
- Strong knowledge of solid-state devices and micro-circuitry.
- Experience using Microsoft Office and other data collection programs to accurately document maintenance actions.
- Experience using hand tools and small power tools.
- Experience using measurement and test devices such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, frequency standards, and signal generators.
- Ability to set up test apparatus and conduct tests on electronic circuit card assemblies, RF circuits, and subassemblies.
- Ability to follow test methods, procedures, standards, and sequences.
- Ability to adjust and calibrate electronic assembly systems.
- Ability to correct malfunctions by making adjustments or replacing parts and components as directed.
- Ability to analyze test results and evaluate product or equipment performance.
- Ability to work in a dynamic production environment and support customer schedules.
- Ability to read and write English.
Preferred Skills
- Flying probe or in-circuit tester experience.
- Flying probe operation experience.
- RF troubleshooting experience.
- Digital circuitry troubleshooting experience.
- Familiarity with radar systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot RF circuits.
- Vibration and thermal ESS experience with circuit card assemblies and subassemblies.
- Military backshop experience repairing and troubleshooting circuit cards, subassemblies, or Line Replaceable Units.
- Experience with CCA testing, RF testing, analog troubleshooting, digital troubleshooting, component-level repair, production test, test procedure development, and electronic assembly calibration.
What Youll Do
- Set up test equipment and conduct tests on electronic circuit card assemblies, RF circuits, and subassemblies.
- Lay out and assemble units for production electronic equipment according to designs and specifications.
- Adjust and calibrate electronic assembly systems as required.
- Troubleshoot failures to the component level using schematics and test equipment.
- Correct malfunctions by making adjustments or replacing parts and components as directed.
- Use hand tools, small power tools, and electronic measurement devices.
- Determine test types, analyze test results, and evaluate product or equipment performance.
- Assist engineers with the design and development of test procedures for new products.
- Recommend product improvements or manufacturing modifications.
- Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
- Document test, troubleshooting, and maintenance actions accurately.
