Electronics Test Technician

PGS Worldwide is seeking an Electronics Test Technician in Oldsmar, Florida for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This onsite 2nd shift position supports testing, troubleshooting, calibration, and assembly of electronic circuit card assemblies, RF circuits, and subassembly units in a fast-paced production environment. The role requires strong component-level troubleshooting skills, flying probe experience, and the ability to work from schematics and standard test procedures to support customer schedules.

Required Skills

  • 1 year of direct experience testing electronic assemblies
  • Proficiency in component-level troubleshooting of solid state, digital, and RF circuits
  • Flying probe test experience
  • High power test experience
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office and other data collection programs to document maintenance actions accurately
  • Ability to set up test apparatus and conduct tests of electronic circuit card assemblies and subassemblies
  • Ability to adjust and calibrate electronic assembly systems
  • Ability to correct malfunctions by adjusting or replacing parts and components
  • Ability to use schematic diagrams to isolate failures on analog and digital circuitry
  • Strong knowledge of solid state devices and micro-circuitry
  • Proficiency using digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, frequency standards, signal generators, and RF power meters

Preferred Skills

  • Extensive RF testing experience
  • Familiarity with radar systems
  • ICT experience
  • Additional flying probe experience
  • Military backshop experience involving repair and troubleshooting

What Youll Do

  • Set up test apparatus and conduct tests of electronic circuit card assemblies, RF circuits, and subassembly units following established methods and procedures
  • Lay out and assemble units for production electronic equipment according to designs and specifications
  • Adjust and calibrate electronic assembly systems as required
  • Correct malfunctions by making adjustments or replacing parts or components
  • Use hand tools, small power tools, and measuring and testing devices to support production testing
  • Determine types of tests to be performed and help analyze test results to evaluate product performance
  • Assist engineers in design and development of test procedures for new products
  • Recommend product improvements or manufacturing modifications
  • Troubleshoot analog, digital, and RF circuitry to the component level
  • Support quality verification in accordance with process control procedures
  • Work at a high level of output in support of customer schedules

Work Schedule / Shift

  • Monday through Thursday
  • 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM
  • Overtime available on weekends
