Executive Chef Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years as executive chef in upscale or fine dining
  • Experience leading successful new restaurant openings
  • Proven background in high-volume steakhouse or chophouse concepts
  • Specialization in charcoal grilling; deep knowledge of dry-aged meats and seafood
  • Demonstrated ability to manage annual restaurant sales of $6M+
  • Leadership experience with culinary teams of 50+ staff
  • Valid ServSafe Certification or equivalent
  • Strong financial skills managing food, labor, and operational costs

Executive Chef Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Oversee all kitchen operations and culinary execution for a 200+ seat restaurant
  • Set and maintain the highest standards for food quality, safety, and presentation
  • Develop chef-driven seasonal menus and specials leveraging Mediterranean flavors
  • Recruit, train, and inspire a back-of-house team
  • Manage food and labor budgets while delivering an exceptional guest experience
  • Conduct line checks, monitor food safety, and ensure kitchen compliance
  • Partner with front-of-house leadership to create a seamless, vibrant restaurant environment
