Electrical Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join an Advanced Manufacturing team supporting the design and delivery of mission-critical data center and high-performance facility projects. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with strong flexibility candidates may work 100% remotely if they are the right fit.
In this role, you will contribute to the engineering and design of complex electrical systems that power data centers and other advanced industrial facilities. You will be part of a collaborative, multi-discipline team working in a fast-paced environment focused on delivering high-quality, technically sound design solutions from concept through construction.
You will be responsible for producing and reviewing electrical design packages, supporting technical coordination across disciplines, and ensuring alignment with project requirements. This role may also include direct interaction with clients, owners, and contractors during construction support activities. Your work will span power distribution systems, UPS and emergency power systems, grounding, lighting, and low-voltage communications systems, including upgrades and retrofits of existing facilities to meet evolving operational demands.
Additional responsibilities may include supporting scope, schedule, budget, and quality management across assigned projects. You will also have opportunities to mentor junior staff and contribute to continuous improvement within the team.

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 6+ years of experience in electrical engineering design
- Experience with medium and low voltage distribution systems, building electrical systems, and campus-style power distribution
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Strong knowledge of industrial facility design principles
- Working knowledge of Revit and/or BIM software
- Solid understanding of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with standard engineering and office software tools
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to evolving project needs
- Demonstrated ability to lead or support engineering teams
- Experience with data center or AI infrastructure projects
Preferred:
- 3+ years of direct data center facility design experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Forward-thinking mindset with interest in innovative engineering solutions
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary team environments
- Passion for mission-critical building systems and construction
- Experience with greenfield project development
