Contract consulting opportunity for a Senior Back End Developer with Java/Kotlin experience.
Client requirements:
*Work authorization status: US Citizen or GC holder
*W2 hourly only (no Indep)
*Local to MN - will be hybrid onsite 2-3 days/week onsite in Minneapolis, MN area

What you'll do: You'll support a team thatfocuses on retail media and advertising technology, systems that support campaign management, reporting, billing integrations, and user experiences.
- building and enhancing seller-facing campaign management workflows,
- integrating with external advertising platformsand ad-serving systems,
- implementing reporting, spend tracking, and billing event pipelines,
- improving campaign synchronization and product eligibility systems,
- and modernizing frontend and backend architecture for scalability and maintainability.
- 7-10 years of backend development experience
- Strong Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot/WebFlux expertise
- Experience with microservices and REST API development
- Strong understanding of Kafka and event-driven architecture
- Knowledge of distributed systems, concurrency, and async processing
- Strong SQL and PostgreSQL/MySQL performance optimization skills
- Experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD, and cloud-native applications
- Production support, monitoring, and observability experience
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Ability to independently own features/services end-to-end
- Good cross-team communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with scalable and high-throughput systems
