Job Summary:
This position supports the Treasury Management Operations Division in the Wholesale Lockbox Department. The individual who fills this position will be responsible for processing, rejecting, and/or re-associating incoming mail daily. As a payment processor, you will be responsible for processing Healthcare, Non-Healthcare, and Retail accounts based on the customer and departmental instructions. This position is also considered a production-oriented position, which includes adherence to Client-based service level agreement goals.

Job Summary:

As a payment processor, you will be responsible for processing Healthcare, Non-Healthcare, and Retail accounts based on the customer and departmental instructions. Primary Job Duties:
- Open and remove all content from envelopes
- Review customer instructions to determine method of processing
- Accurately process and/or reject incoming mail according to the customer s instructions
- and departmental procedures
- Follow the 5-step process to negotiate checks by verifying:
- The payee s name, the written dollar amount, the numeric dollar amount, the MICR line,
- and the restrictive notations on the check
- Stamp the 1 st and last item in the batch with the processor s ID and validate the payees
- Number the checks and the back-up documents
- May also be responsible for processing more complex accounts
- Accurately attach check images to the correct back-up documents according to the
- instructions and prepare completed batches for mail-out
- Assist in researching and identifying the root cause regarding personal errors
- Meet mail-out deadlines including reviewing rejects before mail-out
- Ensure all quality control measures are followed
- Interacts with Management and Staff to ensure Service Level Agreements are achieved
- Train and Crosstrain others as needed
- Additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a H.S Diploma or GED
- Must have 1 to 3 years of Lockbox experience or related experience
- Must have the basic skills to use a telephone. computer, fax and/or adding machine as needed
- Must be detailed-oriented, have good critical thinking skills, and accurately interpret information
- Must meet the physical demands of the job: will require repetitive use of hands and sitting for long periods of time and may require bending, lifting, twisting, turning, and standing for long periods of time
- Must have excellent communications skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Must have experience working under strict deadlines in a production-oriented environment
- Must have ability to stay until work is completed and work overtime and Holidays as needed
