Job Title: Mechanical Assembler
Key Responsibilities:
Assembly Tasks: Assemble parts and subassemblies by following assembly instructions with the goal of building up system prototypes.
Quality Control: Conduct quality checks to ensure that assembled products meet specifications.
Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment to keep them operational.
Preparation: Assist in the layout and preparation of the prototype line; gather parts, tools, and materials needed for assembly.
Documentation: Document assembly processes and any issues encountered during assembly.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Education: A high school diploma or GED is typically required. Additional certifications in mechanics or related fields can be beneficial.
Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency in using hand tools and machinery relevant to assembly tasks.
Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and manipulate heavy components (~50 lb max).
Attention to Detail: Strong focus on quality and precision in assembly work.
Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures to prevent workplace accidents.
Work Environment:
Work will take place in a relatively quiet lab.
