Platform Engineer

Introduction

Employees in this role are focused on developing and maintaining reusable software components that serve the needs of product developers within the organization. They are responsible for designing, implementing, integrating, and maintaining the underlying infrastructure and software applications that support developer productivity and self-service.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and GitHub.
• Prior work experience in the client's industry.
• Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with IBM Websphere Application Server.
• Experience with DataStage on IBM Information Server / DataStage 11.x versions.
• Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects and engineering teams to design platform infrastructure and tools.
• Implement and manage infrastructure upgrades, security patches, and performance improvements.
• Evaluate cloud providers and containerization solutions to create reusable configurations.
• Write and execute Infrastructure as Code scripts, utilizing CI/CD processes.
• Integrate performance and monitoring best practices to scale platform applications.
• Incorporate security and disaster recovery best practices into infrastructure applications.
• Facilitate the integration of enterprise-managed software configurations into deployment pipelines.
• Advocate feedback with service providers and developers to ensure platform evolution.
