Pay is $48.85 $73.27/hour | MonFri | In-office MonThu, Remote Fri | 8am5pm or 9am6pm EST | Weekly pay every Friday+ benefits
- Active DoD Security Clearance preferred; must be able to obtain and maintain one
- BS degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field required; 7+ years of experience may be considered in lieu
Position Overview
Oceaneering's ADTECH group is seeking a Project Electrical Engineer to support the design and development of complex power and control systems for unique underwater robotic and electromechanical systems. Projects are primarily one-of-a-kind solutions for US Navy and DoD customers. Engineers are expected to be hands-on, supporting not only design but also assembly and testing of their systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical and control system design for projects or subsystems, including schematics, wiring diagrams, cable drawings, and block diagrams
- Generate complete designs from high-level requirements with minimal supervision, exercising sound technical judgment
- Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineers to develop fully integrated working systems
- Participate in regular design reviews and maintain accountability for technical deliverables
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers or technicians as needed on project teams
Required Qualifications
- BS or higher in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field (Computer Engineering, Robotics Engineering, etc.)
- Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical engineering, including concept, design, simulation, integration, and testing of complex electromechanical systems
- Experience with COTS equipment selection and integration, including interface design
- Knowledge of electrical/electronic components: power supplies, signal conditioning, SSRs, connectors, wiring, and control/switching devices
- Experience with data communications protocols: Ethernet, USB, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, CAN, SPI, I2C
- Experience with DC power systems design and power/energy estimation
- Proficiency with CAD/simulation tools such as Altium Designer, AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar
- Proficiency with standard electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers, etc.)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
