Pay is $61.59 - $92.36/hour | Mon-Thu on-site, Fri remote | 8AM-5PM or 9AM-6PM EST | Weekly pay every Friday + benefits

  • Must be a able to obtain/maintain a DoD Security Clearance (active clearance preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field required; significant experience may be considered

Position Overview

Oceaneering's ADTECH group is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to serve as a system and engineering lead on complex power and control systems for underwater robotic and electromechanical systems. Projects are predominantly one-of-a-kind solutions developed for U.S. Navy and other DoD customers. Engineers are expected to be hands-on from design through build and test.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor small to medium electrical engineering teams through full project lifecycle
  • Generate complete electrical and control system designs from high-level, incomplete requirements with minimal supervision
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, software, and systems engineers to architect working systems
  • Prepare and participate in regular design reviews, maintaining a system-level perspective throughout
  • Perform hands-on assembly, integration, troubleshooting, and testing alongside design work

Required Qualifications

  • BS or advanced degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field with electrical concentration
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering, including concept, design, simulation, assembly, and testing of complex electromechanical/robotic systems
  • Experience selecting and integrating COTS equipment and designing interfaces
  • Proficiency in electrical/electronic component selection including power supplies, signal conditioning, SSRs, connectors, and wiring devices
  • Experience with embedded microprocessor/SBC-based control systems and I/O definition
  • Experience with data communications protocols: Ethernet, USB, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, CAN, SPI, I2C
  • DC power systems design experience; ability to calculate system power and energy requirements
  • Strong electrical drawing skills: schematics, wiring diagrams, cable drawings, block diagrams
  • Proficiency with test equipment: oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers, spectrum analyzers
  • Proficiency in CAD/simulation tools such as Altium Designer, SPICE, AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical, or MATLAB
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
