Senior Program Manager
Senior Program Manager
Location: New York City (Hybrid 3 days onsite)
Duration: 9 months (with strong potential for extension)
Were looking for a Senior Program Manager to support Mastercards Software Builders Experience organization. This role sits close to senior leadership and focuses on helping an SVP clearly track, demonstrate, and communicate the productivity and impact of his organization.
This is not a traditional HR workforce planning role. Instead, the focus is on building a tracking and reporting framework from the ground up so leadership can clearly answer a critical question:
Are we getting measurable value from the people weve hired, and can we prove it with data?
If you enjoy operating in ambiguity, building structure where none exists, and turning complex inputs into clear, executive ready outputs, this role will be a strong fit.
What Youll Do- Build and manage a productivity and output tracking framework for a large, cross functional organization
- Partner with business leaders, HR, and finance to gather the right inputs for informed decision making
- Translate evolving data into clear, concise, leadership ready summaries and reports
- Track assumptions, changes, risks, and decisions related to staffing and productivity
- Support headcount and capacity discussions by ensuring leaders have the right data at the right time
- Drive follow ups, action items, and next steps to keep initiatives moving forward
- Continuously improve processes, templates, and reporting approaches as the model matures
This is an individual contributor role with a high degree of ownership and autonomy.
How Youll Work- Youll report day to day to the Hiring Manager, with exposure to senior leadership
- Youll operate in an Agile-oriented environment
- Most tools are standard Microsoft 365 (no specialized platforms required)
- The scope and data volume will evolve, so comfort with iteration and refinement is essential
Required Experience
- 5+ years of experience in program management, business operations, or similar roles
- Experience building tracking, reporting, or metrics frameworksespecially when starting from limited structure
- Strong ability to manage multiple stakeholders and workstreams simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing executive level materials
Key Skills
- Program and project management discipline
- Reporting and data storytelling (basic reporting is sufficient; advanced analytics is not required)
- Comfort operating in fast moving, ambiguous environments
- Strong judgment and ability to work independently
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting senior leaders (VP/SVP level)
- Exposure to headcount, capacity, or workforce related data
- Financial services background (not required)
- Schedule: Standard business hours (approximately 9:00 AM5:00 PM ET)
- Overtime: Not expected
- Travel: None
- Work Model: Hybrid, with in office presence expected three days per week in NYC
This is an opportunity to step into a high visibility role where your work directly supports senior leadership decision making. Youll have the chance to design the solution, not just execute someone elses plan, and make a measurable impact on how productivity and value are demonstrated at scale.
