Systems Admin
Financial services organization is seeking an aspiring Systems Admin to operate, maintain and support Linux Enterprise & Unix based Secure File transmission servers and Applications and other peripheral devices, for the file transfer environment focused on managing, monitoring, and securing the transfer of data between internal systems and external partners, in-bound and out-bound data processes under the standard data delivery methodology
Works with team members in support of workload automation software, File Transfer Protocol (FTP) and Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP).
This role typically involves setting up user accounts, ensuring file transfer security (SFTP/FTPS), and troubleshooting failed transfers under the guidance of senior staff.
Qualifications:
Professional knowledge about Unix, Linux and Window O/S and Server systems
Basic knowledge of how Network, about transfer protocols and the firewall rules
Shell scripting programs: bash and python
Special skills: PGP encryption, ftp and sftp, Cygwin and mobaXterm, documentation
Able to communicate with the vendors and Business Users about changes, updates, migrations and tests.
Big Plus: Have Knowledge of IBM MQ, Sterling File Gateway, AutoSys
Protocols: Basic understanding of networking protocols, specifically FTP, SFTP, FTPS, and SSH.
Operating Systems: Familiarity with Linux/Unix and/or Windows Server environments.
Scripting: Basic knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) to automate routine tasks is often preferred.
Tools: Experience with FTP client software (e.g., FileZilla) and basic familiarity with network monitoring tools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Requires the ability to communicate and interact effectively with operations staff, end users, technical staff, vendors and management.
Support Production Jobs, the application developments by interacting with the programmers. Set up new jobs as required by business desk and developers.
Ability to independently resolve routine and some non-routine operations, related technical problems through the knowledge and use of established troubleshooting procedures.
Ability to perform standard diagnostic and maintenance procedures on Servers, and to interact with specialists or vendors and support staff when necessary to resolve problem conditions
To troubleshoot basic file transfer issues Email, call, and otherwise engage Business users and Vendors to facilitate the migration process.
Ability to set priorities and know when priorities need to be changed to meet production requirements. Ability to independently reorganize own work plan and adapt due to unanticipated changes such as hardware/software failures.

- Account Management: Creating, updating, and removing user FTP/SFTP accounts, managing user permissions, and maintaining user access controls.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitoring daily file transfer logs to ensure successful, timely delivery. Identifying and resolving failed transfers, connection errors, and permission issues.
- Security Compliance: Implementing security protocols, such as SSH keys or SSL certificates, to ensure secure file transmission (SFTP/FTPS).
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate, up-to-date documentation for server configurations, user access procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Support: Providing first-level technical support for internal and external users regarding file access and transfer queries.

- Experience (Years): Over 1-3 yrs experience in related skill and field
- Certifications: As required in Related Filed

- College Degree: BS or BA Degree
- Communication Skills: In reading, writing and speaking in a professional manner. Good at documenting
- Team Collaboration Abilities: Work well in a team environment, offering or asking for information or assistance. Will team lead when required.
