Job Title: Senior Application Programmer Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Application Programmer to support the development, administration, and enhancement of a custom-built .NET application. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in C#, ASP.NET Core, and MSSQL, along with experience working in Agile environments. This role involves hands-on development, code reviews, performance optimization, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, administer, and configure a custom-built .NET application
  • Provide technical knowledge transfer, training, documentation, and mentorship to State personnel
  • Offer oversight and guidance for application enhancements and performance improvements
  • Perform code reviews, testing, and validation of new code
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
  • Collaborate with Technical Architects to ensure compliance with State standards and best practices
Required Skills & Experience:
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with:
    • C#
    • ASP.NET Core (version 6.0 or later)
    • Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL)
  • 2+ years of enterprise-level software development experience
  • 2+ years of experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Experience leading a team of application developers within the Microsoft technology stack
  • Experience with distributed systems (Microservices/SOA)
  • Reporting tools such as SSRS, Power BI, or Tableau
  • Experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy)
  • Strong experience with Git version control and branching strategies
  • Front-end development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Experience with modern frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue.js, Node.js, or TypeScript
  • Strong understanding of RESTful API design and integration
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep)
  • Understanding of web application security best practices
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
  • Familiarity with API integrations and external data sources
  • Experience with messaging systems (RabbitMQ, Service Bus) and asynchronous programming
