How will you make a difference?

As a member of the Nordco Logistics team, you will be responsible for maintaining the database that contains the quantities of parts issued and transferred between locations, inventory and cycle count adjustments.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Requires two years of college and one to two years of related experience; or high school diploma and four to five years of progressively responsible related experience; or six to seven years of progressively responsible related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Able to write routine reports and standard documentation.
  • Able to speak effectively to vendors and other employees of the organization.
  • Requires common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Requires the ability to operate a wide variety of standard office equipment, such as a computer and keyboard, printer, calculator, telephone, FAX, photocopier, etc.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and other applicable programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and professional demeanor.
  • Highly developed organizational skills and ability to effectively self-manage tasks.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Enter data for quantities of parts issued and transferred between locations, inventory and cycle count adjustments, into computer database.
  • Close shop packets received and purge computer database.
  • Receive and issue finished goods into computer database.
  • Analyze and reconcile inventory discrepancies to find root causes with manufacturing and inspection personnel.
  • Prepare daily reports for cycle count and pick-lists count sheets.
  • Update inventory systems with accurate data, including locations, and adjustments.
  • Optimize warehouse layout for efficiency and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure location and inventory accuracy.
  • Work with warehouse staff to perform material consolidation and replenishment for all necessary locations.
  • Coordinate the storage, movement, and tracking of inventory (WIP), including finished materials/goods and packaging supplies.
  • Work with internal inspector on non-conforming parts to route RMAs back to suppliers.

What about the physical demands of the job?

Work is primarily light duty and requires the ability to regularly lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds. This position is basically sedentary, and requires the use of hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to talk or hear. Close vision ability is required.

Office and shop setting subject to interruptions, moderate noise and other normal environmental conditions. Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles. Works under routine deadlines and work volume requirements. Normal work hours scheduled by supervisor and may vary on occasion.

You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.
