Responsibilities:
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects with measurable operational impact.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for CNC programming of complex, tighttolerance components.
- Drive setup reduction through improved fixturing, program structure, and standardized work practices.
- Select, test, and implement tooling strategies to improve tool life, surface finish, and process reliability.
- Implement toolwear monitoring and inprocess control methods to enhance predictability and reduce scrap.
- Support machine setup, proveouts, and process validation to ensure program reliability and repeatability.
- Develop, optimize, and standardize CNC programs for lathes and mills to improve consistency and throughput.
- Lead process optimization initiatives focused on reducing cycle time, minimizing variation, and eliminating waste.
- Partner with machinists and production leadership to identify root causes and implement sustainable improvements.
- Support equipment and technology improvements, including automation, pallet systems, and lightsout machining initiatives.
- Provide DFM input, process planning, routing development, and documentation (setup sheets, tooling standards, best practices)
Qualifications (Must-Haves)
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (Syteline or similar) preferred.
- Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
- Expert-level CNC programming and machining knowledge.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and drive measurable results.
- Handson machining experience (lathe and/or mill) strongly preferred.
- Advanced CNC programming experience (Gcode and/or CAM systems)
- Proven ability to reduce cycle times and improve machining efficiency.
- Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on operational excellence.
- Experience with automation, pallet systems, or lightsout manufacturing is a plus.
- Strong understanding of highperformance alloys and tighttolerance machining.
- Effective communication and collaboration across engineering and production teams.
- 7+ years of CNC machining experience with significant CNC programming responsibility.
- Experience with tooling selection, fixture design, and process improvement methodologies.
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent handson experience.
- Demonstrated track record of improving machining efficiency, reducing cycle times, or implementing process improvements.
- Ability to meet physical demands: navigating a manufacturing environment, extended computer work, occasional bending/stooping, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Experience machining stainless steel, brass, and highperformance/corrosionresistant alloys (e.g., Alloy 20, Hastelloy, Duplex) in tighttolerance environments.
