Position Summary

The Senior Controls Engineer provides technical leadership for the deployment, troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of HVAC, lighting controls, Energy Management Systems (EMS), and Building Management Systems (BMS). This role supports daily operations, capital projects, system improvements, commissioning, and staff development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead troubleshooting, commissioning, repair, and optimization of EMS, HVAC, BMS, and lighting control systems.
  • Provide technical support and training for controls hardware, sensors, controllers, and network infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain automation and controls documentation, including drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and sequences of operation.
  • Design, configure, and optimize controls software, GUIs, dashboards, alarming, notifications, reporting, and analytics.
  • Lead UL508A control panel design and construction activities.
  • Support system integration, commissioning, acceptance testing, and complex troubleshooting efforts.
  • Analyze system performance and recommend operational improvements.
  • Mentor technical staff and collaborate with engineering, IT, asset management, project management, and vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards and support system recovery efforts.
