Join our team in Oceanside, CA, a beautiful coastal city known for its stunning beaches, vibrant community, and ideal climate. We are seeking a skilled Lathe Operator for the 2nd shift. This role offers competitive hourly pay ranging from $20.00 to $23.00. Enjoy a 4/10 work schedule from Monday to Thursday, with a three-day weekend or overtime available on Fridays.
Responsibilities- Utilize expertise in laying out metal and nonmetal stock, setting up, and operating machine tools.
- Perform milling, drilling, turning, and grinding, using chemical, CNC, or manual machinery.
- Collaborate with engineering to resolve problems and develop new processes and procedures.
- Lay out metal and nonmetal stock, set up, and operate chemical, manual, and/or CNC multi-axis machining centers.
- Assist in developing machine and tank set-up programming, including program proofing.
- Evaluate patterns and determine material removal methods to meet customer specifications.
- Ensure quality standards are maintained and adhere to all specifications and procedures.
- Pass the OAP exam.
- Accurately record all operating parameters in manufacturing documentation.
- Maintain a clean work environment in compliance with company standards and regulations.
- Support the companys business objectives by providing leadership in cost, quality, process, schedule, and people issues.
- Ensure a safe workplace and protect the environment by adhering to company policy and government regulations.
- Comply with the "Company Policy Statement on Contracting with the United States Government" in all relevant areas.
- Perform daily preventative maintenance of equipment according to a predefined schedule.
- Perform other duties, tasks, and responsibilities as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One to two years of technical school or college training in machine tool technology is highly desired.
- Mills experience required; set-up experience is a plus.
- Experience with Mills 3, 4 & 5 axis, and MT (Mill Turn) is a significant advantage.
2nd shift: Monday to Thursday, 4:15 PM - 2:45 AM.
