PGS Worldwide is seeking a Mixed Signal Digital Design Engineer in Severn, MD for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Mixed Signal Digital Design Engineer will support high-speed digital printed-wire assembly design for satellite radar and communications systems. This role focuses on mixed-signal PCB design, analysis, verification, manufacturability, IPC standards, Altium Designer, and mentoring junior PCB designers supporting aerospace and space-borne platforms.
Required Skills
- Experience with mixed-signal digital design.
- Experience designing, analyzing, and verifying high-speed digital printed-wire assemblies.
- Experience with satellite radar, communications, aerospace, or space-borne platform design.
- Experience designing for P-Band, S-Band, or related radar/communication frequency ranges.
- Strong familiarity with IPC PCB standards.
- Advanced high-speed digital design knowledge.
- Altium Designer/eCAD experience.
- Ability to design for manufacturability.
- Ability to lead technical design, analysis, and verification activities.
- Ability to mentor junior mixed-signal PCB designers.
- Ability to champion strong PCB design practices.
- Ability to work onsite with the engineering team in Severn, MD.
Preferred Skills
- TS/SCI clearance desirable, but not required.
- Experience with satellites, CubeSats, orbital payloads, space electronics, radar systems, communication systems, high-speed PCB layout, printed-wire assemblies, mixed-signal boards, manufacturability reviews, and best-practice PCB design standards.
What Youll Do
- Lead design, analysis, and verification of high-speed digital printed-wire assemblies.
- Support mixed-signal PCB designs for satellite radar and communications frequency ranges.
- Use Altium Designer/eCAD tools to support manufacturable PCB designs.
- Apply IPC PCB standards and advanced high-speed digital design techniques.
- Support aerospace and space-borne platforms such as satellites, CubeSats, and orbital payloads.
- Review designs for manufacturability, quality, and performance.
- Mentor junior mixed-signal PCB designers.
- Help establish and maintain best-in-class design practices.
