Electromechanical Design Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking an Electromechanical Design Engineer in Orlando, FL for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Electromechanical Design Engineer will support the design and integration of complex electronic hardware, with a focus on CCA board mechanical layout, connector selection, fit and clearance, tolerance compliance, enclosure integration, and manufacturing support. This role requires hands-on CCA board layout and design experience, along with strong Creo, Windchill, Zuken, IPC standards, and aerospace/defense product cycle experience.
Required Skills
- Bachelors degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with CCA board mechanical design, connector selection, and manufacturing support.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Creo and Windchill.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Zuken, IPC standards, and aerospace/defense product cycles.
- CCA board layout and design experience.
- Experience creating detailed mechanical layouts for Circuit Card Assembly boards.
- Ability to select appropriate connectors for electronic hardware designs.
- Ability to ensure fit, clearance, and tolerance compliance.
- Experience supporting board integration with enclosures.
- Experience troubleshooting manufacturing issues.
- Ability to support DFM/DFA reviews.
- Ability to define and oversee test plans.
- Strong design documentation skills.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to support test and integration activities.
- Ability to collaborate with mechanical, electrical, systems, reliability, and manufacturing teams.
Preferred Skills
- Cable design experience.
- Harness design experience.
- Experience with electromechanical design, electronic packaging, CCA board integration, enclosure design, connector layouts, BOM management, manufacturing engineering support, aerospace electronics, defense electronics, and cross-functional product development.
What Youll Do
- Design and integrate complex electronic hardware.
- Create detailed mechanical layouts for CCA boards.
- Select connectors and support board-level mechanical integration.
- Use Creo and Windchill to support design, documentation, and configuration control.
- Use Zuken and IPC standards to support aerospace/defense product development.
- Ensure fit, clearance, and tolerance compliance.
- Integrate circuit card assemblies with enclosures.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and support production teams.
- Support DFM/DFA reviews.
- Define and oversee test plans.
- Manage design documentation and BOM-related activity.
- Work with mechanical, electrical, systems, reliability, and manufacturing teams to support product development and integration.
Work Schedule / Shift
- 4/10 schedule.
- Every Friday off.
