Job Description:
- Lead access control programming, VMS configuration support, integration testing, commissioning, and technical turnover activities for complex security systems.
- Review drawings, specifications, submittals, door schedules, device schedules, sequence-of-operation narratives, network requirements, and project scope to identify technical gaps before field execution.
- Configure, program, test, troubleshoot, and validate enterprise access control systems in accordance with approved design documents, customer standards, manufacturer requirements, and project expectations.
- Program and validate cardholders, access levels, schedules, holidays, door modes, alarms, events, input/output linking, interlocks, anti-passback, elevator/floor control, intrusion interfaces, and reporting requirements.
- Support VMS setup and validation where required, including camera configuration, recording schedules, events, user permissions, maps/views, health monitoring, retention settings, and system troubleshooting.
- Coordinate technical work with the PM, FPM, field technicians, subcontractors, customer security teams, customer IT teams, manufacturers, consultants, and other trades.
- Lead or support point-to-point checkout, pre-functional testing, functional testing, scenario testing, integrated systems testing, customer demonstrations, and acceptance testing.
- Troubleshoot hardware, firmware, software, database, licensing, credential, network, certificate, integration, and system performance issues through a documented and disciplined process.
- Maintain accurate commissioning documentation, deficiency logs, test records, redlines, network information, controller/device information, firmware/software versions, backup records, and turnover notes.
- Support schedule performance by identifying technical blockers early, communicating risks clearly, escalating issues appropriately, and helping the project team remove constraints before they impact turnover.
- Support project financial performance by reducing rework, documenting scope gaps and change conditions, using technical time efficiently, and preventing unresolved technical issues from drifting into closeout.
- Mentor technicians and junior specialists on programming expectations, commissioning methods, troubleshooting logic, documentation standards, and safe work practices.
- Represent Convergint professionally with customers, consultants, inspectors, IT stakeholders, manufacturers, subcontractors, and internal leadership.
