We are partnered with a wellestablished CPA firm in Wilmington, DE that is seeking an experienced Audit & Accounting (A&A) Manager to join its leadership team. This role serves as a key liaison between partners, clients, and professional staff and is ideal for someone who enjoys managing engagements, mentoring teams, and building longterm client relationships.

The A&A Manager will oversee multiple audit and accounting engagements simultaneously while helping guide the development and growth of both staff and the firm.

What You'll Do
  • Manage all phases of audit, compilation, and review engagements
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining a deep understanding of their businesses
  • Plan, schedule, and staff engagements while managing workflow and budgets
  • Supervise, review, and provide feedback on workpapers, reports, and financial statements
  • Evaluate internal controls and ensure compliance with professional and firm standards
  • Anticipate engagement risks and proactively address issues as they arise
  • Keep partners informed of engagement status, challenges, and proposed solutions
  • Review and ensure the accuracy of financial statements, tax returns, and client communications
  • Mentor and develop staff through training, coaching, and performance evaluations
  • Assist with billing, client fee discussions, and collections as needed
  • Participate in practice development efforts, including client expansion and referral relationships
  • Stay informed on economic, regulatory, and legislative developments impacting clients
What Our Client Is Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 7+ years of public accounting experience, with demonstrated progression in responsibility and engagement management
  • Active CPA license required
  • Strong background in audit and accounting engagements
  • Proven experience supervising, mentoring, and developing staff
  • Excellent clientfacing, communication, and leadership skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple engagements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
