Propulsion Systems Virtual Engineer

The Propulsion System (PRS) simulation and analysis Engineeris responsible for mainly using but also sometimes developing proprietary frameworks and codes to analyze efficiency of Electrified/non-Electrified Propulsion Technologystudying severalmetricsand KPIs(vehicle range, energy consumption, fuel economy, acceleration,powerand towing capability, gradeability, charging rates)

Additional specific responsibilities include:

• Modeling activities including using first principles to develop high level modelsand features as well as the analysis of the produced results.
• 1-D modeling techniques of vehicle acceleration launches in different setups/scenarios (VDE, weight, traction limits, road grades etc.)- and various fuel economy cycles for variety of propulsion systems including those that utilize but not limited to ICE, e-Machines, EVT, CVT, AT, MT, ... for hybrid and non-hybrid PRS for all existing PRS architectures
• Tracking and Establishing energy balance sheets and energy flows tracking component losses and efficiencies
• Correlation of models to vehicle test data
• Traces generation and plotting of test and simulation data
• Integration of analytical calculations (pre/post-processing) and basic or advanced control logics governing the behavior of the physicalportionof the models embedded into thevehicle applications.
• Creatingand usingpre-processing and post-processing tools and provide support to resolve issues connected to theutilizationof the proprietary frameworks and codes
• Communication of the results in oral presentations and written reports to Chief Engineers, SDLs, COEs,ComponentEngineers and others including Powertrain management isrequiredanda must
