Senior Structural Engineer Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (must be eligible for Florida registration)
  • 15+ years of structural engineering experience
  • Tenure of at least 2 consecutive years with current employer
  • Demonstrated job stability across prior roles
  • Proficiency in Revit, RISA Suite (Floor, 3D, Foundation), TEDDS, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency (legal authorization to work in the U.S.)

Senior Structural Engineer Preferred Background & Skills

  • Experience delivering design for Department of Defense (DoD) projects
  • Familiarity with EM-385, UFC, and federal/military building codes
  • Experience mentoring and onboarding engineering staff

Senior Structural Engineer Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee structural design for military and government facilities
  • Perform complex structural analysis and generate calculations
  • Prepare and review detailed construction drawings using Revit, RISA, and TEDDS
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors throughout project lifecycle
  • Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and support all aspects of construction administration
  • Mentor junior team members and uphold design standards and best practices
  • Ensure rigorous compliance with all DoD and federal requirements
