Job Summary
Emerging IT professional within the Desktop Engineering family developing and applying technical expertise in one or more IT disciplines supporting technical infrastructure. This role is responsible for developing, testing, maintaining, installing, and deploying technologies. The position also supports standard architecture, hardware/software components, and provides consulting services regarding technology standards and implementations.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Supporting desktop and laptop Windows-based operating systems
- Computer hardware troubleshooting
- Application monitoring and support
- Enterprise monitoring tools support
- Microsoft Office and Exchange troubleshooting
- Active Directory group policy and security troubleshooting
- System imaging utilizing enterprise tools
- Tier-1 network and telecommunications troubleshooting
- Analyze chains of events and apply technical knowledge following established procedures.
- Troubleshoot most application problems independently.
- Understand customer requirements and their impact on technical solutions.
- Maintain working knowledge of IT products and services.
- Maintain primary knowledge in one technology discipline and working knowledge in additional areas.
- Apply technical knowledge with minimal supervision.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies.
- Administer assigned technologies following approved procedures.
- Participate in implementations under senior staff guidance.
- Monitor system performance and perform maintenance/upgrades.
- Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting.
- Recommend resources for management approval.
- Assist with operational and capital estimates.
- Create clear and concise documentation.
- Share knowledge effectively within the team.
- Build productive relationships with internal customers.
- Respond effectively to user issues and deliverables.
- Collaborate with IT colleagues.
- Choose appropriate approaches for work tasks with minimal guidance.
- Work is reviewed routinely under general direction.
- Adhere to ITIL Service Management processes.
- Follow organizational policies and procedures.
- Work effectively within larger teams.
- Manage assigned tasks with increasing complexity.
- Minimum 2 years of direct experience with an Associate Degree
OR - Minimum 3 years of direct experience with a High School Diploma
- Strong desktop support and troubleshooting experience
- Experience supporting Windows operating systems
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Exchange, Active Directory, and imaging tools
- Experience working in a hospital or healthcare environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal training
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Self-starter attitude
- Associate Degree in Information Systems preferred
- BA/BS Degree in Information Systems or Business
- A+ Certification
- PB Certification required at time of submission
- 23+ years of experience required
- Healthcare/hospital environment experience strongly preferred
- Candidate should be ready to hit the ground running with little to no training
- Will support troubleshooting, maintenance, upgrades, and implementation activities
- Must maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and systems
- 100% Remote (No Restricted States)
- Contract Duration: 26 Weeks
- Candidate must provide their own laptop, headset, and phone
