Overview:
Seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design and packaging of ruggedized vehicle electronics hardware. This role focuses on mechanical design, product release, analysis, and prototype support for advanced defense vehicle systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and package ruggedized electronic hardware components
- Create and release 3D models and drawings in Teamcenter
- Perform mechanical analysis including tolerance stack-up, thermal analysis, and FEA
- Support products from concept through production release
- Assist fabrication, assembly, integration, and prototype validation
- Participate in design reviews and documentation peer reviews
- Conduct feasibility studies and support new product initiatives
- Maintain technical documentation and engineering records
- Support legacy products with corrective actions and engineering changes
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Experience with electronics packaging and ruggedized hardware design
- Experience with circuit card, harness assembly, and sealed chassis design
- Familiarity with EMI mitigation techniques
- Experience with GD&T and drawing release processes
- Knowledge of shock/vibration analysis, dampening methods, and FEA
- Familiarity with thermal analysis and tolerance stack-up
- Experience with DFM (Design for Manufacturability) principles
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Creo (PTC), NX, Altair SimLab
- Familiarity with Military Standards and test requirements
- Strong cross-functional communication and multitasking ability
- Background in defense, automotive, or electronics hardware industries
