Complete Description:
- Working within the Bureau of Special Education Appeals, the Clerk provides administrative support for a state agency operating under court protocols.
- The Clerk is responsible for performing specialized clerical duties, including record-keeping and managing forms and information.
- The role also involves responding to inquiries by retrieving and providing information from filing systems.
- This is a Full-Time temporary position through Sept. 30, 2026.
- This position has designated funding with the possibility of renewal.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists with receiving and responding to telephone, mail and electronic inquiries from lawyers, paralegals, state agencies in a courteous, efficient and professional manner.
- Communicating effectively with internal and external contacts at all levels, and across all diverse and underrepresented groups; and provides support to its magistrates on Rate Setting cases.
- Providing administrative support, including, handling correspondence, and filing, faxing, photocopying and scanning large volumes of documents.
- Processing incoming and outgoing mails, sorting, stamping, and distributing mail.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Applicants must possess strong writing, communication, and organizational skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word; strong attention to detail; and the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team. Strong work ethic and sound judgment are essential.
EDUCATION:
- High School diploma or the equivalent and four years of secretarial, administrative experience, or an equivalent of combination of education and experience.
- A background as a legal assistant, paralegal or court employee is preferred but not required.
