Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Kofax engineer to lead and operate a combined support + development team responsible for an enterprise-scale Kofax (TotalAgility) environment.
This is a hands-on role focused on production support, maintenance, upgrades, SLA-based incident response, and vendor/trans-vendor coordination during an ongoing bank integration and platform migration.
The ideal candidate will have deep Kofax TotalAgility experience (past work on v7.9 / v7.11 and familiarity with Kofax 8.x) and the leadership skills to manage a small team and drive reliable operations.

- Lead day-to-day support and maintenance of the Kofax TotalAgility environment (production and non-production).
- Own incident response as part of an on-call rotation; meet established SLA targets for incident acceptance, triage, resolution and escalation.
- Perform server upgrades, patching, performance tuning, troubleshooting and bug fixes.
- Manage deployments and coordinate cross-vendor transitions and handoffs; act as primary point of contact for vendor teams.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to both support and development resources (onsite/hybrid/offshore mix).
- Collaborate with API/backend developers (Java/Spring) when integrations or automation are required.
- Participate in planning and execution of migration/upgrade efforts (current environment moved from 7.9 ? 7.11; upcoming move to Kofax 8.x).
- Document operational runbooks, configurations, and run transition/knowledge-transfer activities.
- Support compliance, capacity planning, and operational metrics reporting.
Job Requirements
- 810+ years of relevant experience; significant, demonstrable hands-on experience with Kofax TotalAgility (strong experience on v7.9 and/or v7.11).
- Practical exposure to Kofax 8.x (planning/migration or working knowledge strongly preferred). - Proven experience supporting large-scale, multi-server Kofax environments (enterprise deployments).
- Strong troubleshooting skills across application, integration, and infrastructure layers.
- Experience with on-call rotations and meeting SLA-driven commitments.
- Experience coordinating with multiple vendors and managing transitions.
- Strong communication skills; ability to present technical solutions and confidence in interviews/demos.
- Must be based in the US and able to work US business hours; Illinois-based candidates preferred.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience with Kofax modules/tools around ingestion, OCR, transport, and integration patterns.
- Familiarity with APIs, Java and Spring framework (helpful for integration troubleshooting).
- Experience with cloud/hybrid deployments, CI/CD, and automated deployment processes.
- Prior experience supporting financial services customers or similar regulated environments.
- Experience drafting runbooks, SOPs and SLA-oriented operational documentation.
