Data Integration Engineer / ETL Developer
Austin, TX Area | Hybrid (Must Live in the Austin Area) | 12 Month Contract
iSphere is looking for a Data Integration Engineer who enjoys turning messy, disconnected data into something useful, reliable, and trusted. If you've ever looked at five different systems all claiming to be the "source of truth" and immediately spotted the problem, you'll probably feel right at home here.
This role supports the continued development of a large-scale performance management and analytics platform, with a heavy focus on data acquisition, ETL automation, data integration, and data warehouse development. You'll work as part of an Agile data engineering team responsible for building and enhancing a centralized data hub that supports reporting, analytics, and performance measurement initiatives.
The work includes designing and developing ETL workflows, integrating data from multiple sources, building complex SQL solutions, supporting Snowflake and Oracle environments, and helping drive data quality and automation efforts across the platform. You'll collaborate closely with architects, data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to transform requirements into scalable solutions.
What they're really looking for:
8+ years of ETL development experience using Informatica PowerCenter or IICS
Experience integrating data from multiple sources including Oracle, SQL Server, Excel, Access, and PDF-based data sources
Strong Snowflake SQL development experience with a focus on performance and scalability
Experience building and supporting enterprise data warehouse or analytics platforms
Strong data modeling, data transformation, and system analysis skills
Experience producing technical documentation, process diagrams, and implementation artifacts
Ability to work effectively in Agile delivery environments
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Experience with Python, REST/SOAP services, GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines, Mulesoft, Java, JavaScript, healthcare data, or AI-enabled tools such as Snowflake Cortex or Informatica Claire would be a strong plus.
This is a highly collaborative environment where you'll participate in sprint ceremonies, design sessions, requirements discussions, testing efforts, and implementation planning. The team needs somebody who can move comfortably between technical problem-solving and business conversations without needing a translator in the room.
The right person for this role likes solving data puzzles, building things that last, and making systems smarter through automation. Somebody who sees a manual process repeated 500 times and immediately starts thinking, "There has to be a better way to do this."
