Title: Systems Engineer 3 - CO (Top Secret)
Location: RemoteSalary Range: $65 - $70/hr.

Introduction

The Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) National Team Program is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS). Join a passionate and highly-motivated team at the forefront of national defense.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Generally has 3 years of related experience and may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline.
  • Must have an active Secret Security Clearance. Must be a US Citizen and have/maintain a valid US passport.
  • IAT Level II 8570 Compliant Certification such as Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA, etc.
  • CCNA or JNCIA certification
  • Proven network engineer with hands-on mid-level experience and knowledge of network design, development, and testing methodologies.
  • Understanding of the OSI Model, TCP/IP, routing protocols BGP and OSPF.
  • Network traffic analysis, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Firewall experience especially Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo Alto
  • Experience in UDP multicast, SONET, MSPP, VLANs, GRE Tunnels, and TCP/IP network designs.
  • Hands-on experience with multi-vendor switching routing (Juniper, Cisco), WAN optimizer, TACLANEs, and optical transport equipment.
  • Effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft Office products, especially PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Prior work experience at client or in client's Industry

Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • Top Secret Clearance
  • CCNP or JNCIP Certification
  • Experience with network automation using Ansible
  • Understanding of standard DOD security practices such as STIG compliance and system accreditation implementation efforts.
  • Prior C2BMC experience
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Ensure reliable connectivity across LAN/WAN environments while collaborating with senior engineers on network design and optimization.
  • Configure and maintain network devices including routers, switches, and firewalls from vendors such as Cisco and Juniper Networks.
  • Monitor network performance and availability, proactively identifying and resolving connectivity, latency, and packet loss issues.
  • Implement and support core networking technologies including VLANs, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), and basic network security controls.
  • Troubleshoot network incidents across LAN/WAN environments, performing root cause analysis and documenting resolutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to support network changes, upgrades, and infrastructure projects.
  • Travel to remote locations to lead and perform network installations, independently perform troubleshooting, and provide status updates to Program personnel.
  • Support critical activities outside of standard business hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
