ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following.

  • Promote innovative, recreational, and social programs designed to enhanceresident'slives.
  • Encourageclientsparticipation in group activities.
  • Visit regularly with clients who tend to be alone.
  • Prepare and maintain activity care plans and activity participation logs for each resident.
  • Createmonthlyschedule, making sure vacation events are planned around that month.
  • Report inventory needs to manager, keeping activities supplies always on hand.
  • Assistclients to and from activities andto diningroom for meals.
  • Assistindiningroom atmeal times, eating with clients, and monitoring clientsat this time.
  • Greet guests and provide directions.Respond to personal emergency response system and direct to emergency location.
  • Work with admissions and Director to promote a positive image of theLincolnshire Placeand to ensure a smooth transition for new residents.
  • Solicit resident and family feedback, involve residents in problem solving/general ideas for new service or features, and whenpossibleimplement resident suggestions.
  • Provide respect, privacy, and dignity to all residents anddoesnot enter apartments inappropriately.
  • Is able to work independently as well as a team member with a positive attitude.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Prior experience is preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read andcomprehendsimple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.Ability to write simple correspondence and activity care plans.Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to residents, families, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsenseunderstanding to carry out instructionsfurnishedin written, oral, or diagram form.Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
