Short Description:The Patient Care Technician provides patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Key responsibilities include observing and reporting patient condition changes, assisting with daily living activities (such as meals and bathing), recording vital signs, measuring fluid intake/output, collecting specimens, and transporting patients within the hospital. They also perform one-on-one monitoring with documentation, demonstrate computer skills, follow physician orders, and use the internal paging and patient call systems. Additional tasks are assigned as needed.
Experience Required:Previous Patient Care Technician or Nursing Assistantexperience preferred.
Education Requirements:High School graduate or equivalent.
License/Certification Requirements:American HeartAssociation,(AHA) CPR (Basic Life Support) Certification required.
Special Requirements:Temporary Summer Position
- Must commit to work at least 150 hours per six-week schedule.
- Hours worked must include 50 hours of weekend time
- A minimum of 25 hours of Monday or Friday time per six-week schedule
- Will be scheduled to work at least one of the following days; July 3rd, 4th or 5th
