Overview
We are seeking a Project Controls Specialist for a contract-to-hire opportunity based in Conshohocken, PA. This role is responsible for leading project controls processes in collaboration with internal project management teams to ensure successful delivery of projects within budget and schedule. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, scheduling expertise, and a deep understanding of cost control methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project controls activities across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with budget and schedule objectives
- Set up and manage projects within enterprise planning and controls systems
- Develop and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
- Prepare and manage schedules, cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and performance metrics
- Support engineering, procurement, and construction planning, scheduling, logistics, and cost control efforts
- Analyze data, run reports, and validate accuracy of project controls documentation
- Monitor schedule performance, including logic ties and resource loading
- Perform critical path analysis and run "what-if schedule scenarios
- Develop and maintain earned value management (EVM) systems and progress measurement tools
- Review and approve purchase orders and subcontracts for proper cost coding
- Track and document cost changes, forecasts, and contingencies
- Collaborate with Project Management and Accounting teams on cost reviews and audits
- Review upstream and downstream change orders
- Participate in Interactive Project Planning Meetings (IPPM)
- Conduct field audits to ensure accuracy of reporting and adherence to processes
- Support project forensic analysis when required
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
(Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree) - Minimum of 3 years of direct project controls experience
- Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 preferred
- Strong understanding of scheduling, cost control, and forecasting techniques
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- OSHA 10-hour certification (or ability to obtain)
