Join our client as a Controls Engineer, where you'll provide critical hands-on expertise to support two generation facilities. This role is designed to address skill gaps and ensure operational reliability, with the potential to transition to a full-time position.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and resolve controls-related issues to maintain unit reliability.
- Investigate logic issues, alarms, and abnormal operating conditions.
- Participate in system upgrades, modifications, and performance enhancement projects.
- Support ongoing and new projects for engine, plant, and system improvements.
- Provide cross-site support between two plants, requiring some travel within Nevada.
- Contribute to improving runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and process documentation.
- Experience with Emerson Ovation control systems (strongly preferred).
- Experience with Client Mark VI (Mark 6) control systems is valuable.
- Ability to interpret and work with block logic and other controls-related logic structures.
- Strong troubleshooting capability in an industrial controls environment.
- 5 years of relevant controls engineering or industrial controls experience.
- Experience supporting power generation facilities is beneficial.
- Capability to work closely with instrumentation technicians, corporate engineering teams, and site leadership.
- Split responsibilities between two plants in Northern Nevada.
- Some travel required within Nevada.
