Contract Details
  • Position Type: Contract
  • Contract Duration: 6 months (extension possible; conversion to permanent possible)
  • Pay Rate: $21.45 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: Monday Friday, 2nd Shift, 2:00 PM 10:30 PM; overtime expected based on production demand; occasional weekend work as needed
  • Travel Requirements: Not required

Job Summary

This is an entry-level manufacturing operator role supporting manufacturing production by performing manual and automated processing tasks to maintain production output and quality standards. The team consists of approximately 11 operators per shift, and the role reports to a Production Supervisor while collaborating with Manufacturing Leads, Quality, and Materials teams. Primary contacts include production operators, lab technicians, manufacturing leads, and material handlers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Weighs, measures, and verifies raw materials and parts.
  • Perform manual manufacturing tasks.
  • Assists in operating basic to fully automated filling equipment.
  • Uses basic laboratory equipment: scales, balances, pipettes, luminometers, etc.
  • Follow and foster a safe work environment.
  • Maintain accurate and complete training record.
  • Understand and execute written procedures, manufacturing records, and logs.
  • Housekeeping and cleaning of manufacturing laboratory/area.
  • Assists with material handling, stocking of lab, and assigned daily lab responsibilities.
  • The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the above mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs.

Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • No certifications required prior to hire; safety and equipment training provided onsite
Required Experience
  • 0 2 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, production, or a lab environment
  • Acceptable backgrounds include: manufacturing operator, production technician, assembly technician, biotech or medical device production worker, or warehouse/materials associate with lab or manufacturing exposure
Experience Guardrails
  • Underqualified below: No relevant manufacturing, production, or lab experience
  • Overqualified above: 6 years advanced manufacturing experience or engineering-level candidates
Disqualifiers
  • CNC machinist-only background with no production or lab manufacturing experience
  • Unable to work the required 2nd shift schedule (2:00 PM 10:30 PM)
  • No manufacturing, production, or lab environment experience
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching during production tasks
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs (essential functions require lifting/moving/carrying products up to 40 lbs)
  • Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Sedentary work involves sitting the majority of time
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and/or moderate noise levels
  • Exposure to hazardous chemicals or other materials
  • Exposure to blood in a laboratory manufacturing environment
  • Safety shoes with impact and compression protection must be worn
  • Gloves and other PPE as required in the lab/manufacturing environment
  • Manufacturing/laboratory production attire required
  • Facility badge required
  • Standard employee parking available onsite
  • Team-based, structured, process-driven manufacturing environment
Important Notes
  • Pallet jack use is required; forklift use is not required (pallet jack training can be provided)
  • CNC machinist-only background with no production or lab manufacturing experience is an immediate disqualifier
  • Candidates unable to work the required 2nd shift schedule (2:00 PM 10:30 PM) will not be considered
  • Candidates with no manufacturing, production, or lab environment experience will not be considered
Success Criteria for First 90 Days
  • Successfully complete required safety and manufacturing training
  • Demonstrate ability to follow SOPs and manufacturing records accurately
  • Operate or assist with automated filling equipment with minimal supervision
  • Maintain accurate documentation and training records
  • Consistently meet production and quality expectations
