Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our team in Chatsworth, CA. This role involves setting up and operating machines to produce products according to work orders and drawings. Chatsworth is a vibrant community in the San Fernando Valley, known for its beautiful landscapes and proximity to Los Angeles.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate CNC mills according to programmer instructions, client specifications, and blueprints.
- Develop and fabricate fixtures and tooling as required using shop equipment and hand tools.
- Collaborate with machinists and CNC programmers, providing instruction and guidance as needed.
- Communicate work status to peers and supervisors effectively.
- Maintain good housekeeping habits in the workplace.
- Receive and verify formed units with work orders.
- Prepare trim tools, air rams, tool fixtures, and other measuring equipment.
- Process drilling and edge break (vent holes).
- Ensure the manufacture of quality products.
- Follow work order instructions and report any discrepancies.
- Exercise good judgment and make timely, sound decisions.
- Maintain product traceability at all times and work to reduce scrap.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum high school education or GED with relevant experience required.
- 3-5 years of experience in setting up and operating machinery, including mills, lathes, and cutting equipment. CNC experience is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and customer specifications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player, with strong planning and organizational skills.
- Sitting, walking, and standing for up to 10 hours a day.
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs. as required.
- Minimum of 40 work hours expected per week, with potential overtime as needed.
