Systems Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Systems Engineer in Huntsville, Alabama for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This hybrid position supports program-level systems engineering and software license management activities across a complex defense environment. The role focuses on software usage tracking, compliance, budgeting support, audit readiness, data analysis, and cross-functional coordination to ensure licensing needs are understood, controlled, and optimized.

What Youll Do

• Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and supportability and effectiveness analysis across the system lifecycle
• Help translate customer and product requirements into total system solutions that account for technical, schedule, and cost constraints
• Perform functional analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition activities
• Monitor software usage and licenses to ensure compliance with agreements, terms, and regulations
• Manage a repository of applications, databases, and spreadsheets
• Issue budgetary requests for quotes and submit purchase requests
• Import, filter, analyze, and report software information to stakeholders
• Conduct regular software license audits and identify compliance gaps or discrepancies
• Collaborate with lifecycle managers and budget owners to understand current and future licensing needs
• Work across departments to evaluate and optimize software license deployments
• Identify licensing-related risks and develop mitigation strategies to support legal and regulatory compliance

Pay

• $110.02/hour
