We are seeking a Structural Engineer / EIT to support structural analysis and design for industrial facility projects. This role is ideal for an engineer who has a strong foundation in structural engineering fundamentals and is looking to grow under the guidance of experienced Structural Leads and Engineers.
This person will assist with the analysis, design, documentation, and coordination of structural requirements across project teams. The ideal candidate will have experience with steel and concrete structures, U.S. building codes, and design work tied to industrial, manufacturing, or semiconductor facilities.
Responsibilities- Perform conventional structural engineering analysis and design under general supervision.
- Support design of structural systems for industrial and facility-based projects.
- Apply building code provisions related to lateral design, including wind and seismic requirements.
- Assist with steel and concrete structure design and analysis.
- Work closely with Structural Leads, Engineers, Designers, and other disciplines to communicate design requirements.
- Prepare and review calculations, design documents, and model coordination items.
- Check your own work and perform calculation checks for other engineers as assigned.
- Manage assigned workload, scope, schedule, and deliverables.
- Identify questions, risks, or potential scope changes and escalate appropriately.
- Use sound engineering judgment while continuing to develop technical decision-making skills.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
- Active EIT certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of structural engineering experience.
- Experience with U.S. building codes including:
- IBC
- ASCE 7
- ACI
- AISC
- Experience with structural analysis and design.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Ability to work mostly remotely and provide reliable internet access from home.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Masters degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- Experience with structural engineering analysis software.
- Experience with Navisworks and Bluebeam.
- Experience designing/analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures.
- Experience in semiconductor, industrial, manufacturing, or general industrial facility projects.
Strong fit would be someone with:
- 26 years of structural engineering experience
- EIT required, PE not required
- Civil/Structural degree
- Industrial facility experience
- Steel/concrete design exposure
- Familiarity with IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC
- Seismic/wind/lateral design exposure
- Comfortable working remote but traveling when needed
- Located near Portland, OR or Boise, ID
