Introduction

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to support enterprise-scale database environments across multiple data centers. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on expertise in Oracle and PostgreSQL administration, database performance tuning, replication technologies, and infrastructure migration activities. This role is responsible for ensuring high availability, stability, security, and operational excellence across mission-critical platforms.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong fundamentals and hands-on administration experience with Oracle Database (11g/12c/19c or higher) and PostgreSQL.
• Expertise in database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Experience moving databases between multiple enterprise data centers and supporting large-scale migration projects.
• Strong understanding of backup/recovery strategies, RMAN, replication, clustering, and HA/DR solutions.
• Experience with Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with disaster recovery planning and failover testing.
• Familiarity with shell scripting, Python, or Ansible for automating routine DBA activities.
• Experience in partnering with infrastructure, engineering, application support, and cybersecurity teams.
• Strong experience with Oracle GoldenGate replication and multi-master environments.
• Knowledge of database monitoring tools and automation frameworks.
• Understanding of infrastructure concepts including storage, networking, and virtualization.
• Prior work experience at client or in client's Industry.
• Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and support Oracle and PostgreSQL database environments in production, QA, and development ecosystems.
• Perform database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, backup/recovery, and capacity planning activities.
• Monitor and optimize database performance through proactive tuning, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Lead and support database migration initiatives across 23 enterprise data centers with minimal downtime.
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Oracle GoldenGate replication environments for high availability and data synchronization.
• Implement database security standards, access controls, and operational best practices.
• Support disaster recovery planning, failover testing, and business continuity initiatives.
• Participate in on-call production support and incident resolution for critical database environments.
