Nursing Assistant

Overview:

We are seeking a Float PoolNursing Assistant, also referred to as a Med-Surg/Tele Multi-skilled Nursing Assistant. The Float Pool Nursing Assistant assists with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-critical patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment. They play a critical role inobservingpatients, reporting changesandmaintaininga safe, supportive environment to promote recovery under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit..

Shifts Available: Nights

Hours:12-hour shifts: 7p - 7a

Employment Type:Per Diem (PD / PRN)

Location:Riverview Regional Medical Center Gadsden, AL

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Basic patient care:help patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating

• Vital signs monitoring:take and record blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation

• Mobilityassistance:help patients get in and out of bed, walk, or use assistive devices.

• EKG lead maintenance:ensure telemetry monitors (heart monitors) are properly connected and functioning though Certified NursingAssistants(CNAs)don'tusually interpret heart rhythms, they might recognize when alarms go off andimmediatelyalert registered nurses

• Observation:monitor patients for any physical changes (shortness of breath, chest pain, altered mental status) and quickly notifying the nursing staff

Qualifications:

Education and Work Experience

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology
• Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate or within 6 months of hire and maintain current

Additional Qualifications That AreaPlus:

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certificate
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physicians office
