Role Summary:TheSystemEngineerprovides world-class customer service while keeping safety andcompliancethe top prioritiesat Alaska Airlines (AS). ThisEngineer, as part of the Engineering department, works with a team toestablishpreventativeaircraftmaintenance procedures and reliability improvements in the interest of safety, cost reduction, and fleet maintenance improvements.
Key Duties:AssociateLevel(P1)
- Under supervision, develop repairs, alterations, and maintenance specifications andprovidesengineeringassistanceto all departments within the Maintenance & Engineering (M&E) division.
- Provide input into preventative maintenance procedures and reliability improvements in the interest of safety, cost reduction, and fleet maintenance improvements.
- This job will require travel to supportAircraftOnGround(AOG)and/or prototype projects (approximately 10%).
- Update andmaintainAircraftIllustrated PartsCatalog, asrequired.
- Assist Senior Engineeringteammates withdeveloping systemsand Airworthiness Directivetask cards.
- Review and update project tasks, schedule, and change requests in the engineering departments project and change management system.
- Investigate problems andproposesmodifications,evaluatesproposal merits, andrecommendssolutions.
- Become familiar with FAA part 121 and 25 regulations.
Intermediate Level(P2)
- Develops repairs, alterations, and maintenance specifications and provides engineeringassistanceto all departments within the Maintenance & Engineering (M&E) division.
- Establish preventative maintenance procedures and reliability improvements in the interest of safety, cost reduction, and fleet maintenance improvements.
- Develop Airworthiness Directive Compliance Plans.
- Familiar with Maintenance Programs.
- This job will require travel to support AOG and/or prototype projects (approximately 10%).
- Manages andmaintainsall OEM recommendations (Service Bulletins(SB), Service Letters (SL) for incorporation into the fleet.
- Review TC documents with your customers (maintenance, planning, records, inspection, etc.) to ensure they are implemented efficiently.
- Utilizes technical expertise and practical experience to disposition complex technical issue.
- Researches, recommends and approves part alternatives.
AssociateLevel (P1)
Required
- Bachelor of Science degree, with a focus in aerospace or mechanical engineering, or related discipline;or anadditionaltwo years of training/experience in lieu of this degree.
- Knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, operating policies, and procedures.
- Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat.
- Basic knowledge and some experience in key ATA focus areas, including: chapters 21, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 32, 35, 36 and 47.
Preferred
- Experience in system engineering
Intermediate Level(P2)
Required
- Bachelor of Science degree, with a focus in aerospace or mechanical engineering, or related discipline; or anadditionaltwo years of training/experience in lieu of this degree.
- 2 years of experience in aerospace or mechanical engineering, or relatedarea.
- Strong knowledge of system engineering with some of the following fleet types: B717, B737, A321, A330, B787 type.
- Experience & strongknowledge of Key ATA focus areas,including:chapters 21, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 32, 35,36and 47.
- Strong Knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, operating policies, and procedures.
- Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat.

Salary Range:$80,200 --$139,600 / yearPay Details:Associate Engineer: $80,200 - $108,000
Engineer: $93,050 - $139,600
Salary Details:Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon employees.
