Screw Machine Operator
Job Summary
A precision manufacturing company is immediately hiring Screw Machine Operators. In this role, you will set up and operate multi-spindle automatic screw machines to produce high-quality components.
This is a full-time, first-shift position offering a stable 4-day work week with frequent opportunities for Friday overtime.

Location: Plymouth, MI area (Job Shop Environment)

Schedule: Monday Thursday, 6:00 AM 4:00 PM (Includes a paid 1/2-hour lunch daily).

Overtime: Fridays as required based on production needs.

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour (depending on experience).
Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation: Setup, adjust, and operate multi-spindle automatic screw machines (specifically Davenport 5-spindle and Acme 6-spindle) to produce precision parts.

Quality Inspection: Use standard measuring equipment to perform in-process inspections, ensuring parts conform to technical prints.

Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret standard manufacturing drawings to determine dimensions, tolerances, and operational sequences.

Tooling & Maintenance: Monitor machine operation, detect minor faults or dimensional variations, and assist with basic troubleshooting or tooling adjustments.

Workplace Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Requirements & Qualifications

Experience: Previous hands-on experience operating multi-spindle screw machines is highly preferred.

Direct experience with Davenport (5-spindle) or Acme (6-spindle) machines is a major plus.

Technical Skills: Ability to read and understand standard manufacturing drawings in both English and Metric units.

Inspection Tools: Proficiency using standard precision measuring equipment, including Micrometers and Optical Comparators.

Communication: Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
Alternative Qualifications Note: While experienced operators are strongly preferred, we are willing to consider an exceptional candidate with a solid, foundational background in precision manufacturing who demonstrates the aptitude to be rapidly trained on screw machine operations.
