St Elizabeth is a Level III high-risk facility with 11 LDR s + 2 OB ED Beds, 2 OR s, 23 Postpartum rooms, and a 27 bed Level III NICU. Our practitioners include OB/GYN, Family Practice and Nurse Midwives. Our facility offers resources to OB Hospitalists, Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Neonatology experts, and anesthesiology access 24/7. In addition, we offer neonatal transport services.
Our NICU nurses routinely float to Mother-Baby or L&D to care for newborns. They are baby nurse/transition nurse for new babies and cares for well babies on the mother-baby unit while another nurse cares for the mom. We rarely float to the house to be a safety advocate or task but that is a possibility. We take turns floating.
We do not have a mother/baby float pool.
We require BLS & NRP.
We follow AWHONN/NANN guidelines, so 3-4 continuous care, 2-3 intermediate care, 1-2 intensive care, 1 multi-system support care
Generally they could expect to work every third weekend and vacation but they might have to work more if needed. Our shifts run from 6:30-1900 or 1830-0700. We require 2 extra shifts in 6 weeks.
