Job Title: Radiographer (Radiologic Technologist)

Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Monday Friday 7:00 AM 3:30 PM
Under the supervision of a Radiologist, the Radiographer performs diagnostic radiologic procedures to assist in the evaluation of pathological conditions. This role requires independent judgment to ensure optimal imaging quality, patient safety, and adherence to departmental protocols.
Key Responsibilities-
Explain procedures to patients and prepare them for examinations

Review physician orders and clinical information to determine appropriate imaging studies

Position patients and select proper radiographic techniques

Operate radiographic equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images

Perform portable imaging as required
-
Administer intravenous contrast media when applicable and monitor for adverse reactions

Apply radiation protection and ALARA principles consistently
-
Prepare and maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies
-
Follow infection control and patient safety standards

Complete accurate documentation, logs, and patient records
-
Collaborate with Radiologists and interdisciplinary teams

Resolve imaging exceptions and ensure image quality in PACS

Manage study workflow and indexing within RIS

Assist with training and mentoring of new hires and students as needed

Maintain professionalism and team standards (communication, responsiveness, patient-centered care)

Imaging Equipment: Client, Carestream, OEC C-Arms

EMR/Systems: Cerner

PACS & RIS proficiency required
-
Epic: Not utilized
-
Hospital-based role (ER, OR, inpatient units)

Exposure risks may include radiation, high-voltage equipment, and infectious patients

Occasional lifting/moving of patients or equipment (> 10 lbs)

High School Diploma or G.E.D.

Minimum 2 years of Radiography experience

Level I or Level II Trauma experience required

Operating Room (OR) experience required

Experience with portable imaging

Ability to work with diverse patient populations (young, adult, geriatric)

ARRT (RT) Required

BLS (BCLS) Required

Must maintain continuing education requirements
