Job Title: Systems Software Programmer Advanced (10008)
Location: Columbia, South Carolina 29201 (Onsite)
Work Type: Onsite (First 3 Months Mandatory Onsite Hybrid Possible Thereafter at DES Discretion)
Duration: 12 Months (Extension Possible)
Interview Process: 1 Round Virtual/Online
Candidate Requirement: Must be a South Carolina Resident (No Relocation Allowed)

Key Responsibilities
Application Development & Modernization

• Develop complex Canvas and Model-Driven Apps using Power Apps.
• Build workflows and process automation using Power Automate.
• Develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
• Design and manage data models using Dataverse.
• Build Copilot Studio agents to support agency automation needs.
• Migrate and modernize legacy applications into the new SCDES environment.

Integration & Data Management

• Integrate Power Platform solutions with:
  • SQL Server
  • Microsoft 365
  • Azure services
  • APIs and external systems
• Connect Power Platform apps and flows to SQL Server environments.
• Embed Power BI dashboards into Power Apps applications.

Security & Compliance

• Manage security roles and permissions.
• Implement and adhere to Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies.
• Ensure compliance with:
  • GCC security rules
  • FedRAMP standards
  • NIST requirements
• Support secure deployment and environment configuration.

Collaboration & Documentation

• Work closely with Office of Technology staff and business stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance and best practices.
• Create detailed technical and operational documentation.
• Support production deployments and ongoing maintenance.

Required Skills

• 3+ years of experience with Government IT projects
• 3+ years of Power Platform development experience including:
  • Power Apps (Canvas & Model-Driven)
  • Power Automate
  • Power BI
  • Dataverse
  • Copilot Studio
• 3+ years designing responsive and user-friendly interfaces
• 3+ years connecting Power Platform applications and flows to SQL Server
• Experience managing security roles and permissions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to produce clear and comprehensive documentation

Preferred Skills

• Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate (PL-400)
• Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Functional Consultant Associate (PL-200)
• Experience embedding Power BI dashboards into Power Apps
• Understanding of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies
