We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager (APM) for a long-term contract opportunity in Maitland, Florida. The Assistant Project Manager will support Project Managers on a variety of projects ranging in size and complexity and may independently manage smaller projects.
This role serves as a key liaison between clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams while helping coordinate project activities, documentation, and communications. The APM plays an essential role in ensuring projects are executed efficiently and delivered within established schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

Assist Project Managers with the planning, coordination, and execution of projects from initiation through completion.

Act as a project liaison between clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Support global practice and engineering disciplines on design-only and EPC projects.

Assist with Request for Proposal (RFP) development, bid evaluation, contractor selection, and preparation of detailed scope of work documents for downstream contracts.

Manage contractor submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), supplemental design instructions, and drawing logs.

Verify contractor compliance with project requirements related to quality, safety, environmental standards, and material management programs.

Support contract administration including change order management, field change directives, invoice approvals, and schedule management.

Assist with project controls activities, including cost reporting, scheduling, work breakdown structure development, project setup and closeout in accounting systems, and field progress tracking.

Contribute to the development of internal and external reports, including project budgets, cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and project status updates.

Participate in project risk reviews and coordinate with the Legal Department as required.

Maintain organized document control systems and project databases.

Assist with project and contract closeout documentation.

Promote and support strong safety performance and adherence to project safety programs.

Perform additional duties as assigned while complying with all company policies and standards.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited institution.

Minimum of 5 years of applicable project management or construction experience (internship experience does not count toward the required years of experience).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and work overtime when required.

High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including owners, contractors, engineers, designers, and project managers.

Experience with Primavera Contract Manager or similar change management software is preferred.
Preferred Skills

Experience supporting engineering, design, or EPC projects.

Strong organizational and documentation management skills.

Familiarity with project scheduling, cost controls, and contract administration processes.
