Quality Engineer

• BS in Engineering
• 2+ years of Qualityexperience in aerospace/automotive
• ASQ certification (preferred)
• Knowledge of quality inspection and quality assurance techniques, procedures, instruments, equipment, theories, principles and concepts
• Ability to use standard business applications software and/or specialized data analysis tools
• Six Sigma & Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus
• Knowledge of maintaining and improving QS9000 & TS16949 systems
• Effective communication and presentation skills

• Develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality standards for products and processes.
• Deviseand implementvarious methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision, reliability and accuracy of products, processes and production equipment.
• Developand establishquality systems and procedures, inspection plans, quality performance trends, statistical plans, cost estimates and technical quality plans for proposals.
• Ensurethat project and/or process control documentation is compliant with requirements and/or contract.
• Assess the cost of products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications by performing statistical analyses.
• Identifyquality performance, trends and corrective action by coordinating with customers and suppliers.
• Ensurecompliance with specified quality requirements by performing in-house and supplier audits and surveys.
• Developand initiateprograms to improve supplier performance.
• Preparereports by collecting, interpreting, analyzing and summarizing data and making recommendations. Analyzeproposed changes in methods and materials.
• Participatein failure analysis and corrective action investigations.
• Refineand enhanceproducts and processes by applying continuous improvement and key lean manufacturing/production principles and techniques to critical areas of production.
• Representcompany by interfacing with customers, assisting with internal and external audits. May act as main contact in audit. Developand coordinatecorrective action procedures and plans.
• Educateteam on matters requiring specialized knowledge of quality functions - such as Production Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Product Quality Process (APQP).
