Assist Assembly II assemble parts, fittings, or subassemblies on aircraft by using layout tools, power tools, or fasteners, such as bolts, screws rivets or clamps
Assist Assembly II assemble prototypes or integrated-technology demonstrators of new or emerging environmental technologies for aircraft by following product specifications
Assist Assembly II attach brackets, hinges, or clips to secure or support components or subassemblies by using bolts screws rivets chemical bonds or welding
Clean, oil, coat system components, as necessary, before assembly or attachment
Join Structural assemblies, such as wings, tails or fuselage by following work order specifications
Assist Assembly II Layout and mark reference points and locations for the installations of parts or components by using jigs, templates, or measuring and marking instruments
Assist Assembly II mark identifying information on tubing or cable assemblies, by using etching devices, labels, rubber stamps or other methods
Assist Assembly II position and align subassemblies in jibs or fixtures by using measuring instruments and following blueprint lines and index points
Assist Assembly II verify dimensions of cable assemblies or positions of fitting by using measuring instruments
Capture or segregate waste material such as aluminum swarf machining cutting fluid or solvents for recycling or environmentally responsible disposal following company protocol
Assist Assembly II fabricate parts needed for assembly or installation by using shop machinery or equipment
Install accessories in swaging machines, using hand tools
Assist Assembly II swage fitting onto cables by using swaging machines
Assist Assembly II splice seals by using tube to reconnect with bonding material
Assist Assembly II ensure proper fit and clearance by cutting, trimming, filing, bending or smoothing parts
Splice cables by using clamps and fittings or reweave cable strands
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES:
- A & P License or Associate's Degree required in Aircraft Maintenance or related field.
- One (1) to two (2) years of work experience in a fast-pace manufacturing environment
- Direct experience performing tasks associated with composite fabrication and/or assembly highly desired
