Maintenance Lead
Overview:
The Maintenance Lead is responsible for the repair and maintenance of facility equipment. This position will also assist or lead in all other aspects of grain handling, storage, maintaining facilities/equipment and elevator operations.
5V, LLC is joint venture partnership between Viserion Grain, LLC and Five Rivers Cattle Feeding encompassing a shuttle train grain facility in Dalhart, Texas. This facility is positioned to meet the growing demand for feed in the region and represents a key strategic asset to complement the partners existing grain, merchandising, and feed businesses.
Responsibilities:- Use hand and power tools to repair or replace faulty equipment parts and reassemble equipment.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly and operate efficiently.
- Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
- Use tools ranging from hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them by checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
- Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
- Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, forklifts, hand tools, and power tools.
- Plan and lay out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams.
- Operate a cutting torch or welding equipment to perform repairs and fabrication.
- Thoroughly understands all facets of Viserions safety programs and culture, with strong working knowledge of safety procedures and environmental regulations.
- Consistently demonstrates safe working practices and promptly communicates safety alarms to operations.
- Responsible for properly and accurately recording all applicable documentation.
- Assist all areas of the loading, unloading, and transferring of grain and grain products for truck, and rail
- Perform basic housekeeping and cleaning duties.
- Compliance with all the Companys safety programs and policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Associates, Technical or Mechanical Degree desired.
- Two to five (3-5) years of experience.
- Basic written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a safety conscious environment.
- Ability to work in a quality-controlled environment.
- Welding and light fabrication preferred.
- Agriculture and/or grain elevator experience preferred.
- Regularly walk, bend and stoop.
- Regularly required to walk on catwalks at a variety of heights; up to 200 feet with appropriate safety equipment.
- Regularly climb stairs and ladders.
- Regularly lift up to 75 pounds.
- Regularly enter and works in confined spaces.
