HIL SIL Technical Specialist
Location: Sterling Heights, MI
Position OverviewThe HIL/SIL Technical Specialist will be responsible for the development, integration, and maintenance of Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) test systems supporting advanced vehicle programs. This role focuses on real-time simulation, signal conditioning, test automation, and system-level validation of embedded hardware and software.
The position requires strong electrical engineering fundamentals, experience with embedded systems, and hands-on integration and testing expertise across complex military vehicle architectures.
Key ResponsibilitiesHIL/SIL System Development-
Develop and maintain HIL/SIL test systems

Simulate synthetic driving environments (terrain, weather, lighting, position, obstacles, etc.)

Implement real-time physics-based plant simulations

Design and support signal conditioning and fault injection capabilities

Develop and support test automation executables
-

10+ years of full lifecycle experience in:

Experience with embedded electronics architecture

Experience testing embedded software

Experience developing test applications (VeriStand, CANoe, Simulink, TestStand, or equivalent)

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics

Knowledge of HIL systems, signal conditioning, simulation, and DAQ
-
Familiarity with PCAP, PTP, and PRP standards
-
Knowledge of safety standards (e.g., MIL-STD-882E, ISO 26262, FACE)
-
Experience with RTOS and partitioned operating systems

Experience with high-bandwidth networks (AFDX, PCIe, Ethernet, TSN)

UML / model-based design experience
